This Crockpot Slow Cooker I have owned since 2021 (just over 2 years as of writing this) and it has been such a blessing.

Ever had those evenings where you don’t want to spend hours prepping and cooking food after work?

Well, simply throwing in some ingredients and doing the prep work in the morning or at lunch, is the best feeling knowing that dinner is making basically itself throughout the day – not forgetting the lovely smells from the kitchen!

There are plenty of black slow cookers to choose from, but I’ll be sharing my honest opinion of this 3.7 litre Crockpot – should you make the purchase too? Let’s find out…

Is the Crockpot 3.7 Litre Slow Cooker Any Good?

The 3.7 litre size is the sweet spot for small families or anyone who just loves to batch cook. It’s provides enough space to cook a large meal, but still not so big that it takes up your entire worktop.

Versatile heat settings

Thankfully it comes with 3 heat settings: one for low, high, and keep-warm. Whether you’re slow-cooking a stew or keeping a curry warm for later, you’ve got all options covered.

Oven-safe bowl

This is not something I have done myself, but it’s great to have the option. Imagine browning a roast to perfection and then popping it straight into the slow cooker – no need for extra dishes!

The same goes for dishes like lasagna or a cheesy casserole – super helpful and may actually be something I do going forwards now…

Dishwasher safe

I’m going to be honest with you here…for the last 2+ years I’m sure I read somewhere the bowl wasn’t dishwasher safe, so I’ve been hand washing all this time!!?

The non-dishwasher safe was going to be a downfall for me, however, learning that it is safe has changed the game for me! Thank you Crockpot!

Unless they decide to skyrocket the prices after I publish this, this is a steal at around £20. For what you get and the time you save (plus after owning this for over 2 years and not having an issue is a no-brainer).

I’m sure there will be other websites out there telling you to buy this more expensive one but that’ll most likely be for them to earn more money via their referral link. I would earn literally pennies if you bought via this article, but I’m okay with that as I want to give you truthful and helpful advice and this really is a no-brainer in my opinion!

Are There Any Drawbacks?

As I just mentioned, the non-dishwasher safe WAS going to be a drawback however, learning that it can be put in the dishwasher is such great news! The only couple of drawbacks I can think of are the following…

The inner ceramic bowl is fairly ‘weighty’. I store mine in the bottom of a corner cupboard so it can be quite challenging to manoeuvre it out, so it would be nice if it was a little lighter.

Smart features

If it had built in timers to start/stop at this time or could work with your smart home speakers like Alexa, that would be great, but this is just a fancy addition and not overly necessary in general.

For me, the size is plenty, however, if you have a bigger family or just want to bulk cook more at once, the 3.7 litre may not be enough, so I would suggest going for the 6.5 litre Crockpot option instead.

Performance & Design

To be fair, this does do its job exceptionally well. The range of heat settings ensures your food is cooked to perfection every time.

Plus, being more efficient with your time is a massive bonus as we all know, time is our most valuable currency!

Energy saving

Interestingly, slow cookers in general consume less energy than ovens, and this one is no exception. A win for your energy bill and the environment.

Sleek look

I really like the way it looks – it has a modern, sleek design that easily blends with other black kitchen appliances.

The buttons and dial make for a super simple to us. Honestly, 3 options – you would find it hard to go wrong!

No need to fumble around or consult the manual to get cooking those delicious meals.

Safety Tips

  1. Never Overfill: Keep food and liquid level low enough to prevent overflow and potential burns.
  2. Unplug When Not in Use: Always unplug the slow cooker when it’s not in use to minimise electrical risks.
  3. Hot Surfaces: Be aware that the outer surface can get hot too, so use oven mitts or wait for it to cool down before handling.
  4. Lid Security: Make sure the lid is on correctly before starting to avoid spills and potential burns.
  5. Child Safety: Keep the slow cooker out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidental tipping or touching of hot surfaces.
